National Finance and Accounting Appreciation Week
Dalton High School Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists Dalton High School is proud to announce that two of its seniors, CenCen Wan and Hope Hambrock, have been named Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) recently revealed the names of more than 16,000 semifinalists in the prestigious competition, now in its 70th year. Wan and Hambrock now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million, which will be awarded in the spring of 2025. City Park School had a blast celebrating fReEDom Day! What better way to honor so many special occasions than with a fun-filled assembly? Students marked Dot Day, Constitution Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and kicked off Dalton High School's Homecoming. They sang patriotic songs, cheered as their teachers tried their luck at field goal kicks, and celebrated Hispanic heritage with lively music. A special thank you goes out to Roger Melendrez, former City Park student, Marine, and local business owner, for leading the pledge and always setting a great example for students. Westwood School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a special hands-on lesson in Mrs. Montijo and Mrs. Holmes' 3rd grade classes. Today is international dot day! Students from our elementary schools are spending the day celebrating creativity, courage and collaboration. Here’s a glimpse inside Mrs. Harrison’s 5th grade challenge class and Mrs. Walker’s kindergarten art class at Westwood School! The 5th graders took on Dot Day-themed challenge stations, while the kindergarteners painted frames and created art to go inside them.
