Students from Mainhardt, Germany will be visiting us again in March of 2026. We are looking for host families who would be able to house a 7th or 8th Grader from March 15th - March 29th . You do not have to have a student at Hammond Creek or DJHS to host a student.

🦁🦃👕Thanksgiving Break is here! We will see all of our Lions back at Brookwood on Monday, December 1st. Also, if you're looking for a Holiday gift idea, our Engineering class is selling a student-designed T-shirt to raise funds for Engineering class. Forms have been sent home with students, but if you would like another one, please reach out to your student's Homeroom teacher!

🦁🦃Our 5th Graders are selling Turkey Candy Grams tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday morning before school. Each Turkey Gram contains one piece of candy, and students can send them to anyone within the school. They cost $1 each, and all of the funds raised help pay for the 5th Grade Atlanta Field Trip. Our 5th Graders thank you for your support!

🦁📸🥫Monday is Class Picture Day & Retakes. It is also the first day of 5th Grade's Canned Food Drive! Please, check out the attached flyers for more information.

🦁🎅Our Holiday Lunch schedule is here! We want to share it early, so you will have time to mark your calendar if you plan to attend.
*Please note: To ensure we have enough space for all of our Lions to enjoy their meal and guests, please only plan for 2 guests per student. Guest meals are $6.50 per person.

🦁🚗Parking: At tonight's One World Festival, our School Resource Officer will be blocking off both sides of Willow Park Lane to ensure our Lions will have a safe Lantern Parade route. Although the edges of Willow Park Lane are commonly used for parking, we are kindly asking you not to park there tonight for this event. We sincerely appreciate your help with this effort to keep our Lions safe!

Please note: These roads may already be partially closed which could affect today's dismissal parking as well.

🦁🌱Our 4th Grade Wetland Investigators welcomed Ecologist, Iris Avila last week! She taught our Lions about the different types of soil and how the quality of soil affects an ecosystem. She also shared that soil quality is an indicator to the health of an ecosystem. Together, they journeyed to Lakeshore and collected soil samples from different locations around the park. Based on their observations, they classified the collected samples and concluded the quality of soil at each location indicated the Wetland ecosystem at Lakeshore Park was in good health. We are grateful for her guidance and expertise to help our Wetland Investigators understand more about the world around them! #BrookwoodSTEM
