Save the date...Picture Day is coming up!

Ms. Diaz’s class has been exploring art and history museums during Project-Based Inquiry in Savvas. They learned that history museums often showcase fossils, and today our students became paleontologists digging for their own fossils.

After a morning of district-wide learning, our Westwood staff spent the afternoon building community, strengthening our culture, and digging into milestone data. Working Together, The Westwood Way! ♥️🐾

Next week, to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’ll have special Dress-Up Days! We are excited to celebrate our school’s diversity and can’t wait to see everyone join in the fun.

Exciting news, Wildcats! The Westwood School Store Grand Opening is Tuesday, September 23rd! 🛍️🐾 Open Monday–Thursday, 7:45–8:15 AM in the lobby. Shop fun school supplies, pawprint items & more. Prices range from $0.25–$10.00 (cash only). Please label all money for the school store.

Mrs. Landeros and Ms. Sanchez’s Pre-K class dove into the world of the five senses! They created a step-by-step guide to making popcorn with an air popper, seeing it pop, smelling it cook, hearing it crackle, touching it, and of course, tasting the delicious result! 🍿

Our first graders were so excited to meet Officer Warren today! He talked with them about what police officers do to help our community, and the students even got to check out his police car. 🚓 They can’t wait to use what they learned to write their very own informational texts!✏️

Our first graders had such an exciting day! Today, Mrs. Meek visited to teach them about the Constitution. She even dressed in colonial clothes, which made history come alive for our students.

Our Wildcats had so much fun learning and celebrating Constitution Day! 🇺🇸📜

Kindergarten had a wonderful time during our Books Before Bedtime event today! Students wore their pajamas to school, listened to the read-aloud The Night Before Kindergarten, and enjoyed milk and cookies afterward. Thanks to the generosity of Books for Change, every kindergarten student took home a free book! We appreciate your support in building a love of reading in our youngest Wildcats. ♥️🐾
